Well done Cies for that great achievement which shows how educational software is becoming more and more important. The 2nd prize had a mark of 16.5 and KTurtle is third with 16 so that was quite close. There was no first prize as the rules to package the program were quite strick and difficult to meet and no entry was able to meet them.
KTurtle won 3rd prize in a Dutch Educational contest! The technical jury was very pleased with the looks of KTurtle, good configuration options and a very nice manual and the educational jury said "Some renewed attention to LOGO is very much welcome."

As soon as the kdelibs in trunk have stabalized Cies will re-import the KTurtle code back. This means that - for the time beeing - KTurtle is no longer developed as part of kde-edu. January 15th, 2006: KTurtle removed from the KDE trunkīecause Cies Breijs is rewriting parts (if not all) of KTurtle we have decided to remove KTurtle from trunk. There is a changelog that covers most of the significant changes. A fully rewritten KTurtle has been imported back into KDE trunk today. When the porting of KDE to Qt4 started KTurtle was removed from the trunk (the place whre the development version of KDE lives) since a rewrite was scheduled. September 22th, 2006: Rewritten KTurtle back in the trunk September 24th, 2006: KTurtle google group launchedĪ KTurtle google group was created to discuss all about the development version of KTurtle. This will hopefully get KTurtle available in even more laguages. This made KTurtle not so easy to translate, resulting in not too many complete translations.īut not anymore! KTurtle (the development version, that will be released as part of KDE 4) is now fully translatable by PO-files, requiring no huge extra efford from the translation teams. In the past (KDE 3.x times) KTurtle had, besides PO-files, also some data files that required quite some extra efford of the translations teams in order to be translated. PO-files are files that the various translator teams of KDE translate in order to localize KDE to 'their' language. October 1st, 2006: Now fully translatable by PO-files Those files demonstrate fractals and recursion in KTurtle for KDE 3.5. You can download those files and put them in your home folder then open and run them with KTurtle. Please see Skolelinux KTurtle page in German for more information. We got some German Logo examples files shared by Skolelinux. October 17th, 2007: German Logo example files
